Baby Reed is a ... GIRL!!!!

Had our second ultrasound today and found out that our sweet Baby Reed is a girl. The radiologist informed us that she appears to have a healthy heart, kidneys, brain, etc. So it appears as though we are growing a  healthy baby girl!!!

13 Week Doctor's Appointment

OK...so good news is the baby's heart beat is strong, around 162 beats a minute, and the baby appears to be developing normally. The bad news is I lost two pounds. Doctor says I need to eat high caloric foods such as cheesy pastas, casseroles, etc. and more protein. After the doctor's visit I made a quick stop by Chick-fil-a for some chicken minis :-) We will be able to find out the sex of the baby between 18-20 weeks so we have about 5-7 more weeks to wait. I have been having crazy baby dreams that I am trying to write down in a journal to share with the baby when he/she is older. My next doctor's appointment is scheduled for March 2, 2011 at 8:45am.

Baby's First Ultrasound :-)

Had my first ultrasound on January 6th, 2011. This was such an amazing experience! We were able to make out the baby's head, arm buds, and a little leg. At first the baby wasn't moving but when I took a deep breathe, the little arm and leg buds started moving like crazy! Baby Reed is approximately 2.17cm (TINY) from crown to rump. Due date for Baby Reed's arrival was given as August 6, 2011. My friend Brigitte is also pregnant and she is two weeks behind me. Due date for Baby Christiansen (Brigitte's baby) is August 25th. I feel extremely lucky because Brigitte has been very sick, can't hardly hold down any food. Thus far, I have had a lot of stomach gases and fatigue, a little nauseous at big meals but I have figured out to just eat a lot of small things throughout the whole day. Tea is a God send and I have been drinking a lot of spearmint and peppermint teas. Reed (Michael Ryan Reed) is taking good care of me and Baby Reed. He has made me tea and he has plans to replace the carpet in our duplex because "we will have a kid crawling around there". Parents are getting ready for Baby Reed :-)

Hello Baby Reed!

I was able to hear Baby Reed's heart beat on January 3rd, 2011. It was thumping very fast but the doctor assured me that that was normal. The doctor estimated it was beating about 172 beats a minute. So thankful to hear the baby's heartbeat, gives me a certain amount of reassurance.
